First Teachers’ Registration Examination |
The Authority conducted the first ever teachers registration examination in November 2005 in order to fulfill vacancies in the teaching positions in non-government educational institutions. The registration examination was held in 6 divisional cities with active cooperation from Education Boards at Dhaka, Rajshahi, Jessore, Barishal, Sylhet and Chittagong and concerned district administration. 1 compulsory subject as well as 23 optional subjects were introduced in the test to scrutinize assistant teachers for schools and equivalent educational institutions. Likewise, 1 compulsory subject and 14 optional subjects were included in the test to select lecturers for colleges and high madrasahs. 76,185 candidates applied to participate in the first registration examination. Out of them 58,620 including 17,169 women candidates sat for the 200-marks exam. 33,788 came out successful. Of them 10,045 were women. The percentage of pass was 57.64. |

Second Teachers’ Registration Examination |
The second teachers’ registration examination was held in September 2006. The number of compulsory subjects remained unchanged. As many as 112 optional subjects were included in this teachers' registration examination. The number of candidates for the second teachers registration examination was 131,759 but as many as 99,807 sat for the exam. Out of them 22,381 passed. The percentage of pass was 22.42. |

Third Teachers’ Registration Examination |
The third teachers' registration examination was held on 21, 22, 28 and 29 September 2007. The number of optional subjects were increased in this exam. A booklet containing revised syllabus of each subject has been published. The number of candidates was 113,975 of which 85,286 finally sat for the exam. Out of them 16,020 passed. The percentage of pass was 18.78. |
